Most Financial Calculators Are
"Good Enough."
And That's the Problem.

When you're making the biggest financial decision of your life, "national averages" aren't enough. You need precision.

Hi, I'm Jon Teera, the founder and lead developer behind CalcLogix.

During Covid, when rates hit rock bottom, I managed to refinance my home at 2.875%. I remember staring at the closing disclosure, realizing how much money that simple percentage point was going to save me over 30 years.

But that era is over. The market today is unrecognizable.

In today's economy, you don't have the luxury of "close enough." When rates are higher, every single dollar in taxes, insurance, and fees matters.

Yet, I noticed that most online calculators hadn't changed. They were still defaulting to old insurance premiums and tax rates from the "cheap money" years. They were giving people false hope.

I realized that the internet didn't need more calculators. It needed honest ones.

I built CalcLogix to give you the same level of financial clarity I demanded for my own mortgage—because in this market, precision isn't optional. It's essential.

No "Generic" Defaults

We don't just guess 1.2% for property tax. If you're in Texas, we default to Texas rates. If you're in a MUD district, we help you calculate that.

Decision-First Design

Our tools aren't just for math; they're for decisions. We highlight the "red flags" (like high DTI or risky loan terms) that salespeople try to hide.

How We Ensure Accuracy (Our Editorial Standards)

CalcLogix is an independent, developer-run project. We don't have a 50-person content farm. Instead, we use a "Human-Led, AI-Enhanced" research process to build the most comprehensive financial tools on the web.

1

Data Engineering

We analyze official sources (IRS, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, State Comptrollers) to build our calculation models. Math comes first.

2

AI Research Assistant

We use advanced LLMs to parse complex tax codes and lending guidelines, helping us identify edge cases that standard calculators miss.

3

Human Verification

Every calculator, article, and formula is manually tested, code-reviewed, and fact-checked before publishing. We never publish raw AI output.
